I stayed in this hotel with my family for an overnight stay and was enough to understand everything about it. It'ss placed in a really nice location,"San Lorenzo",a very eventful district quite close to the city centre,as well. The staff is warm ( i really appreciated the kindness of the receptionist),the rooms are surprisingly clean (in the bathroom you could walk with bare feet ,i swear) and spacious as well. There's free wifi (you have just to enter their code on your laptop),the breakfast is included ( there's lot of stuff: pies, cakes, fruit juice,biscuits,ham...) and the price is sooo cheap: we paid around 40 euros (33 pounds) per person. There's also an excellent restaurant called "I Fratelli" just after the first side street. Definitely recommended.
I am very happy to stay in hotel Laurentia, particularly because of its location near the train station and near the University. At the same time it is located in a small street, across from a market. Next time in Rome I'll be back
Very nice hotel, we very much enjoyed our stay. It is particularly close to the University which we found convenient as we were attending a conference. At the same time it was an easy walk to most city sights. There were several very good restaurants within easy walking for excellent lunches and better dinners.
We`ve been in your hotel for many, many times and we recommended it to all our friends and members of our family. The real reason to come back that often is that we feel familiar to your excellent staff, escecially to sig. Alberto,Vicenzo e Gianni: always helpful, friendly and reliable! The location however is very noisy - especially at night when students celebrate their nightlife, but that's not up to the hotel: your can choose a quiet room backside!
I chose this hotel on the basis of other rewiews, which seem pretty accurate. The hotel is friendly, efficient and clean, with a lot of business guests. Very handy for the university area, and easy to walk from main rail station although at night although the long streets between the hotel area (itself very animated) and the station could feel a bit deserted if you were a solo woman traveller. The hotel area is scruffy (lots of graffiti everywhere) but does not feel at all unsafe and has a good atmosphere with loads of good cheap places to eat, catering for young clientelle /students. Compared to other cities the hotel felt expensive for what you get, but this is Rome. My single room was high up on the backside with a small roof terrace. The decor was a bit drab, and some aspects felt a bit "run down" - e.g. shower door half falling off, room safe attached to a shelf which was detachable, window shutter catch not working. However it was comfortable with a good bed and very clean. For Rome it was also quiet (at least on the backside room I had), with an air con system that allows you to sleep with windows shut. No room internet connection - you have to do this in the communal lounge downstairs which is a bit inconvenient. The breakfast area is stylish and breakfast buffet was fine. The suited gentlemen at reception (which is alway staffed) were always friendly and helpful. Maybe not the best location if you are here for tourism, although I walked to the Colosseum in about 25 mins, and once you are at the main station there are easy links to the whole city. And you'll get more for your money here than in the city centr
In my frequent visits to Rome , I have stayed at this small hotel quite few time. The hotel is conveniently located in San Lorenzo very easy to reach from the rail stations either Termini Station or Tiburtina Station never more than 7€ Euro of a taxi ride. It is great if you have to attend or you have some business at local La Sapienza University ( like in my case) 5 min. walk. Rooms tough a bit dated are clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi connection everywhere. Great continental breakfast. At night many good options for local dining from very simple pizza places to restaurants and pubs where to grab a drink . For those who like to visit town tough not right in the city center it is very easy to reach main sites by bus number 492 and 71 ...just from the main road behind the hotel. The reception staff is very professional and accommodating I had to shorten my stay in two different occasion and they never charged me a penalty for doing so. They help ed me with taxi arrangements and left luggages. Rates if you book well in advance are really great for a town like Rome. Definitely a place to stay in the Eternal City.
This is our 4th stay at the Laurentia and we have nothing but praise for the way the hotel is run. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming - especially Gianni and Enzo on the reception desk. The rooms are very pleasant, airy, and clean and the air conditioning works very well in the summer (though not so good in the winter!!) It is also nice to have clean towels every day and frequent fresh sheets on the beds. The breakfast is good and adequate and it is good that ham and cheese have been added to the menu.
Personale gentile e disponibile. Buona colazione in bellissima sala. In generale consigliato!
The Hotel Laurentia has it all: exellent and quiet situation off the tourist trac, close to good local restaurants and shopping, spacious and clean rooms with exellent comfort, extremely serviceminded and friendly staff, tasteful lounge and breakfast area, guest PC for internet access - I sure will come back - my best recommendations
Had a lovely stay at the beginning of our trip, even though we were given a room on the 2nd floor (european 1st floor) with a view that looked out onto the square that is very busy and loud at night (a pretty happening nite-life, bar scene of college students). But other than that the room was very spacious comfortable and peaceful, and the service warm and hospitable. We even came back to stay at the tail end of our trip 2 weeks later, and the service at the front desk was even warmer and nicer, as those at hotel Laurentia seem loyal to loyalty. The neighborhood is "cool" and cheap, good for artists, musicians, travellers on a budget etc to hang and shop and drink and dine. One thing though, I noticed some graffitti of nazi swastikas on seemingly random building walls and such -- the San Lorenzo district is home to some of that pursuasion apparently, and it's not an uncommon thing in Italy, unfortunately -- but being of Asian descent myself, I experienced no problem whatsoever during my stay. As long as you avoid messing with the biker kids up the block that congregate late at night (they keep to themselves mostly, and ride bicycles not motorbikes) then you'd be fine. The neighborhood shopowners, bartenders, restaurateurs, etc were all gracious respectful and nice to us and we are beholden to them for making our stay so enjoyable. Also, the monti et mari pizza from the pizzeria around the corner is AMAZING.
The staff at the Laurentia can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. From booking taxis, to recommending local restaurants for both lunch and dinner, to translation. We paid 10 euros extra per night to stay in one of the three terrace rooms on the top floor. This gave us a large balcony with excellent views of the church square & table and chairs to enjoy a drink in the evening. Although the room was basic, it was clean & functional. The shower cubicle is a little small and the towels are more like serviettes but this wasn't a big problem. The hotel bar appears to be open 24 hours a day. Trasport links to all the attractions are fantastic, although we were there for three days and only sussed it all out properly on the last day. You can get 3 tickets for the bus and the metro. The 75-minute ticket allows you one metro journey and unlimited bus journeys for 1 Euro. the day ticket (4 Euros) and the 3-day ticket (11 euros) gives to unlimited access to all forms of public transport until midnight each day (when the night service runs). Make sure you buy a travel guide before you go with the metro and bus routes in it as this will make things a lot easier for you. Our favourite restaurant, which was a stone's throw from the hotel was Armando's, serving excellent Trattoria food, including excellent seafood, and an amazing selection of wines, prosecco and limoncello. We recommend the prosciutto and mozzarella and the seafood mixed grill. Top Tip: If you get lost in Rome, head for the Piazza Venezia as this is where all the buses go from.
Excellent staff, very polite and helpful. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. The terrace was fantastic and very romantic. Good choice of food at buffet breakfast. Wi-fi in our room was very well. The location of the hotel is rather convenient: several small restaurants, cafes and supermarket () are nearb?. 15 minutes walk from Termini station, 10 minutes walk to subway (station Castro Pretorio). Wonderful hotel with nice personal and good service!
El desayuno bastante bien, cafe, zumos, bollerÃa, panes,embutidos,pastelerÃa,cereales,frutas,yogures...etc.
Zimmer - Boden nicht sehr sauber, Sauberkeit Rest i.O. Frühstücksbuffet nicht jeden Tag volständig (1 x keine Butter, 1 x kein normales Brot, nur süss)
Excellent experience, the room was nice, huge and clean. The hotel is in the hearth of San Lorenzo, which is a very characteristic, young and dynamic quarter located near to the termini station, with a lot of restaurants, bars etc
Hotel molto confortevole ed accogliente!Risultato ottimo
Excellent small-medium hotel. Close to the university and about a 20-min walk from Termini. The area abounds in low to meduim price restaurants. We felt quite safe walking at night.
The hotel was excellent and the staff friendly, they even booked us a taxi to take us to the airport which only cost 10 euro's each. We were really lucky as there was a festival going on in the square while we were there with entertainment every night.
I had a very pleasant stay in your hotel. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. The bathroom products provided (soaps, toothbrush, razor etc.) are a very welcome touch. I did find the light level in the room a bit low (probably because of the blinds) and the lamps could not provide sufficient light for comfortably working on my documents.
We stayed in Laurentia Hotel for one week. It was very good to be here, because rooms were clean, and day by day it was cleaned. Breakfast was good, but i wanted that it will be not just light food, but i needed meat. Staff was excellent and perfect, because they found decision of all our problems very quick and was very polite and good in English language. I with my girlfriend had a perfect holiday week in this hotel. If we will come to Rome one more time, we will choose Laurentia hotel again.
