A very reasonable price for a comfortable stay. Front desk help was very good. Vincenzo was particularly helpful to me. The one shortcoming re. facilities was the unreliability of the internet service to the computer for guest use. I have had this experience in other Rome hotels also.
Consierge disponibilissimi e staff curato, educato, gentilissimi.
I stay at the Laurentia Hotel when I come in Rome for long time and it is always cheap, comfortable and with very competence employees.
We stayed in Laurentia Hotel for one week. It was very good to be here, because rooms were clean, and day by day it was cleaned. Breakfast was good, but i wanted that it will be not just light food, but i needed meat. Staff was excellent and perfect, because they found decision of all our problems very quick and was very polite and good in English language. I with my girlfriend had a perfect holiday week in this hotel. If we will come to Rome one more time, we will choose Laurentia hotel again.
Canada.
I stayed in this hotel with my family for an overnight stay and was enough to understand everything about it. It'ss placed in a really nice location,"San Lorenzo",a very eventful district quite close to the city centre,as well. The staff is warm ( i really appreciated the kindness of the receptionist),the rooms are surprisingly clean (in the bathroom you could walk with bare feet ,i swear) and spacious as well. There's free wifi (you have just to enter their code on your laptop),the breakfast is included ( there's lot of stuff: pies, cakes, fruit juice,biscuits,ham...) and the price is sooo cheap: we paid around 40 euros (33 pounds) per person. There's also an excellent restaurant called "I Fratelli" just after the first side street. Definitely recommended.
The Hotel Laurentia was a fabulous place to stay in Rome. Though it is a bit away from the major sites, it is very close to the main train station. The staff was very helpful. Also, the price we got was excellent for the quality of the rooms. The breakfast was wonderful also. I would definitely stay here again. There are some great restaurants and bars in the neighborhood that are filled with Italians and not tourists!!
The standard of service form the hotel is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the street outside our window was at times quite noisy. However in a busy city this has to be expected. I will definitely check price and availability the next time we visit Rome.
Consiglio l'hotel!
Saubere, grosse Zimmer. Lage im hippen Stadtteil San Lorenzo. Gute Busverbindung in die Altstadt. Gute Restaurants, Bars und Clubs in der Nähe.
f the nine hotels we stayed in during previous travels to Italy, our ten-day stay [May, 2006] at Hotel Laurentia was our favorite. Our room [#203] had a comfortable full size queen bed – not two twins pushed together. The bathroom shower was enclosed [be it small] with daily hot water. The air conditioner worked as well as the small refrigerator [once you pluged it in]. The room overlooked the open market and church. Yes, it was noisy outside late into the night, but that was corrected once the window was closed. Indeed, there was a lot of graffiti and posters on the buildings giving the area a rough appearance. But the neighborhood was safe, close to excellent gelato stands and restaurants free of annoying tourists. It was also close to bus transportation or a 20-minute walk to the bus terminal located at Rome’s main train station. Taxi service was easily available. The meter rate begins at the point of departure for the taxi, not from the hotel. But not to worry, average speed to the airport is 110 mpr. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with multiple selections of grains, cereals, fruits, juice, pastries, yogart and, upon request, excellent cappuccino. All of this served in a comfortable dining area. The staff was attentive, efficient, and responsive to requests. Of special recognition is the detailed connoisseur service provided by Alberto at the front desk. He is outstanding – speaking several languages.
Arredato e gestito in modo piacevole; buona atmosfera; personale gentile
Zimmer - Boden nicht sehr sauber, Sauberkeit Rest i.O. Frühstücksbuffet nicht jeden Tag volständig (1 x keine Butter, 1 x kein normales Brot, nur süss)
The hotel was hosting mostly business guests during my stay, this might have been depended on the fact that it was a Monday. The public areas are extremely attractive, service excellent and extremely kind: rooms are comfortable and nice, although standard of rooms (at least as far as the standard rooms is concerned) cannot be considered at the same level of the beautiful and cosy public areas
The street the hotel is situated in is scruffy and absolutely full of graffiti. Yet behind many of those doors are excellent reasonably priced restaurants, -- don't be put off by the outside appearances. We stayed for nine nights and the six of us ate extremely well and didn't have one poor meal. The hotel is cheap, clean and desk staff are very helpful and friendly .. As previous reviewers have commented water pressure is poor and the temperature even worse! -- no power showers at the Laurentia ! Breakfasts are adequate. The thing to note perhaps is that there is no kitchen at the hotel -- Coffe comes from a machine and you cannot purchase food at the hotel but there are bakeries and pizzerias a few doors away from the hotel. For those on a tight budget there is a well stocked supermarket a few hundred metres away from the hotel -- turn left as you go out of the hotel walk 150 m and it's across the road. Directly opposite the hotel is a small market. which sells mainly food. The hotel is based in the University district of Rome. The area is lively and noisy and some distance from the tourist sites. If you are confident to catch public transport and push your way on to the overcrowded buses or walk to theTermini (Central trains and/bus station in Rome) which is approximately 20 minutes away then the hotel is a good cheap option. If you are not prepared to do this then choose a more centrally located hotel. Also, if you expect to use the Internet frequently then you might have to wait because there is only computer access -- but who wants to spend their time e-mailing in Rome.?
My son and I spent a week at the Laurentia in June 2003 and found it absolutely charming. It is in the real Italian district near the University and the train station so there were lots of restaurants all around us and very reasonable. The staff were extremely helpful and gave us directions every day to help us get to our destination. The bus was around the corner and took us directly to the centre of Rome. The breakfasts were great and there was a lovely lounge and bar and a computer for the guests use. Our room was clean and air conditioned and very quiet. We highly recommend this hotel which was very reasonable and a real gem. We would definately stay there again.
I stay at the Laurentia Hotel when I come in Rome for long time and it is always cheap, comfortable and with very competence employees.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was served in a beautiful room. The only downside was that there were few restaurants near the hotel, really only pizzerias. Termini is about 15mins walk away but it might not be a walk you'd take alone as you have to pass through a some lonely streets. However the hotel is situated in a quieter area (actually right beside a fruit and veg market)which doesnt get too much traffic which was a welcome change as many streets are very noisy. I would definitely stay there again
It was nice to stay in this hotel . We really had great time. The staff was very welcoming and rooms were very clean. It was upto our expectations.
The hotel was really nice! I will go back there. The location is very convinient (near to the main train station). The rooms are clean and very confortable. The breakfast could be better and warmer:) Enjoy your stay in Rome!
The staff at the Laurentia can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. From booking taxis, to recommending local restaurants for both lunch and dinner, to translation. We paid 10 euros extra per night to stay in one of the three terrace rooms on the top floor. This gave us a large balcony with excellent views of the church square & table and chairs to enjoy a drink in the evening. Although the room was basic, it was clean & functional. The shower cubicle is a little small and the towels are more like serviettes but this wasn't a big problem. The hotel bar appears to be open 24 hours a day. Trasport links to all the attractions are fantastic, although we were there for three days and only sussed it all out properly on the last day. You can get 3 tickets for the bus and the metro. The 75-minute ticket allows you one metro journey and unlimited bus journeys for 1 Euro. the day ticket (4 Euros) and the 3-day ticket (11 euros) gives to unlimited access to all forms of public transport until midnight each day (when the night service runs). Make sure you buy a travel guide before you go with the metro and bus routes in it as this will make things a lot easier for you. Our favourite restaurant, which was a stone's throw from the hotel was Armando's, serving excellent Trattoria food, including excellent seafood, and an amazing selection of wines, prosecco and limoncello. We recommend the prosciutto and mozzarella and the seafood mixed grill. Top Tip: If you get lost in Rome, head for the Piazza Venezia as this is where all the buses go from.
I chose this hotel on the basis of other rewiews, which seem pretty accurate. The hotel is friendly, efficient and clean, with a lot of business guests. Very handy for the university area, and easy to walk from main rail station although at night although the long streets between the hotel area (itself very animated) and the station could feel a bit deserted if you were a solo woman traveller. The hotel area is scruffy (lots of graffiti everywhere) but does not feel at all unsafe and has a good atmosphere with loads of good cheap places to eat, catering for young clientelle /students. Compared to other cities the hotel felt expensive for what you get, but this is Rome. My single room was high up on the backside with a small roof terrace. The decor was a bit drab, and some aspects felt a bit "run down" - e.g. shower door half falling off, room safe attached to a shelf which was detachable, window shutter catch not working. However it was comfortable with a good bed and very clean. For Rome it was also quiet (at least on the backside room I had), with an air con system that allows you to sleep with windows shut. No room internet connection - you have to do this in the communal lounge downstairs which is a bit inconvenient. The breakfast area is stylish and breakfast buffet was fine. The suited gentlemen at reception (which is alway staffed) were always friendly and helpful. Maybe not the best location if you are here for tourism, although I walked to the Colosseum in about 25 mins, and once you are at the main station there are easy links to the whole city. And you'll get more for your money here than in the city centr
